INGenious
Making a difference through creativity
- Since 2022 -
INGenious is a youth-driven nonprofit organization founded by international school students in Korea who are passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of marginalized children. With diverse backgrounds and open minds, our team believes in the power of creativity, community, and connection.
Through engaging programs in arts, crafts, music, sports, and educational field trips, we offer children meaningful opportunities for self-expression, personal growth, and joyful learning. Our goal is to help them build confidence, develop empathy, and strengthen essential life skills including communication, teamwork, and critical thinking while also connecting them with the local community through meaningful shared experiences. We strive to create lasting memories that inspire hope and resilience.
At INGenious, we are not only here to teach, but also to listen, learn, and grow alongside the children we serve.
Making a Difference
At INGenious, we have built strong partnerships since our founding to bring our vision to life. In collaboration with Hyundai Motor Studio, we launched a recurring field trip sponsorship program that provides students with hands-on learning experiences, transportation, meals, and guided tours. We were also honored to visit Hyundai’s Ulsan manufacturing factory, where children had the rare opportunity to experience innovation and industry firsthand.
Our monthly basketball sessions, organized in partnership with Sangmyung University, encourage self-confidence, physical well-being, and mentorship through the involvement of college student volunteers. Additionally, collaborations with the Seoul Arts High School Foundation and Art Center Doam provide children with recurring access to live performances, art exhibitions, and cultural outings, experiences that nurture creativity and strengthen their connection to the local community.
We have also invited local artists, health professionals, and guest speakers who generously share their time and expertise. Their contributions enrich our programs with creative, educational, and wellness-focused experiences that inspire and support the children we serve.
We have secured ongoing donations of snacks and baked goods from sponsors including Haitai Confectionery, Bread & Co., and Shilla Bakery. We also partnered with Myung Woo, a college club, to help establish a student-led service initiative that supports long-term volunteer engagement.
Most recently, INGenious expanded internationally with the launch of a U.S.-based chapter in Washington, D.C., allowing us to extend our mission across borders and serve more communities in need.
Activities
We are dedicated to supporting the children of Sunduk Children’s Home by fostering their creativity and personal growth. While the Home receives government support for basic education and essentials, the children are eager for opportunities beyond the classroom. Our mission is to enrich their lives through creative activities such as arts, crafts, music, performing arts, martial arts, sports and various field trips. Through these programs, we aim to help them explore their talents, build confidence, and experience the joy of learning in new and exciting ways.
We believe that hands-on activities provide valuable experiences and opportunities for personal growth. Through creative and physical activities, children can explore their potential, develop new skills, and build confidence. These experiences also foster empathy, inspire and motivate, and help them grow into creative, resilient individuals with a positive outlook on life.
“We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”
— Winston Churchill
